SEO and PPC (Pay-Per-Click)

SEO is all about working on onsite and offsite factors. While onsite factors include navigation, title, structure, copy, and other coding tags and tweaks, offsite factors are all about linking to the right sites, article and directory submissions, and press releases. Organic search engine optimization is the main source of traffic for websites these days. On the other hand, PPC is way of sites to appear in important positions on major search engines by paying the engines.
Another major difference between the two is that while PPC is a paid form of advertising, organic search engine optimization is absolutely free. But, climbing high on the ladder of SEO requires a lot of hard work and patience. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page via the natural, organic or un-paid search results. SEM stands for search engine marketing, this is a paid method of online marketing.

Think of your website as being a cake. Nobody knows it's there until you start spreading little tastes of it around. Once you have a constant and increasing stream of visitors and your name becomes known, should you stick your financial neck out and use PPC or Facebook marketing. When marketers are talking about Web 2.0 they are also talking about the tendencies of users to be in a line interaction activity with them. Gone are the days of one way marketing or merely just posting comments about your site or other related topics.

Acquiring a huge volume of site traffic is the lifeblood of a SEO campaign. Once you were able to get more traffic, people would recognize you as a trusted source for related information, thus earning a higher ranking and overthrowing other competitors. If you want to achieve the best search engine optimization results for your online business, doing SEO yourself may not be the easy way to do it unless you are an expert yourself and know exactly what has to be done. It is not an easy task, and a little knowledge may not be the best for your online business.

The importance of both the techniques can hardly be over-emphasized as both are important to keep pace with the ever-changing web world. Both are important for advertising products and services to your customers and for attracting traffic to a site.

Internet Marketing Secrets for Getting Traffic

by: Corick Stephunt

There are many products and services that you can promote online, but for any of them you need a proven marketing system to make it work. You need this marketing plan so you know how to proceed with your business. It will be hard to make progress if you don't have a plan to generate website traffic or advertise your site. Let's take a look at some solid internet marketing techniques that you can begin using right away.
When you promote your products or services, don't forget that your prospects will see things differently than you do. So when you're creating your product, you should make sure that it has all the benefits your customer needs. Keeping your customers happy should be your main concern. Next, target your promotions towards a specific group.

It's easier to sell to a target audience than to everybody. No one product or service is for everyone. Become an expert in your niche. When your knowledge in this area starts to be recognized, prospects will look to you for help. Your reputation as a trusted authority will grow. A good Internet marketers understands how to harness the power of words for his own benefit. Choosing the right words could mean increased profits and higher sales conversions, but choosing the wrong words can give you the opposite effect. Your internet marketing efforts are heavily dependent on the words you select when you're crafting your sales copy. The more people understand about how your products can benefit them, the more profits you'll reap. It all comes down to finding the right way to convey your meaning so it can't be mistaken. Creating high converting sales copy could be the key to unlocking the success of your Internet marketing campaign.

If you want to narrow your focus, you can start your own forum that is based on your own particular area of interest. For example, if you're targeting the fitness niche, you can have a forum set up in this area and have interested people join in and start discussions. Having your own forum is great for marketing purposes, as you will have a growing base of potential customers to whom you can target your products and offers. A popular forum will be a natural traffic magnet, and it's also a good way to achieve expert status in your niche. You can start an internet marketing business with little or nothing and take it to great heights if you give it your best effort. If you want to succeed, however, remember to study your competition at all times. Your success depends on this. If you are serious about building a profitable business, be sure that you remember the testing and tracking part of your marketing.

How To Create An Email Newsletter

A great way to build an email list is to publish an email newsletter and you can then sell products to your subscribers. Here are a few tips on how to create an email newsletter.
Maintain focus. A narrowly focused newsletter performs better than a broad themed one.
This is because it is easier to get people to subscribe to it. Also it is an excellent way to sell targeted niche products. As an example, publishing an email newsletter on putting it is likely to do better than a newsletter on golf in general.
Make use of a good auto-responder. It is very important that your email newsletter gets through spam filters and into a person's email inbox.
This is why you need to use a quality auto-responder. Get Response and Aweber are two of the best.

Always be consistent. This does not mean that you have to publish every day or even every week if you don't want to.

What is important is that you set a schedule and stick to it. If you decide on a monthly newsletter then consistently get your newsletter out every month on the same date so people get used to seeing it.

Include useful information. Bear in mind that email newsletters are not sales letters. You can send out solo email ads for that purpose.

When people receive useful information they will be glad they subscribe to your newsletter. Also the more unique information you can include in your newsletter the more subscribers you will get and keep.

Use your newsletter to sell advertising. Selling top sponsor adverts, bottom sponsor adverts, classified adverts and email solo adverts is a way you can make money. Just don’t over advertise in your newsletter to the point that people can't find the quality information you provide.

Use it for Branding. Ensure that you get the header at the top of your newsletter. Also if you are going to include colors into your newsletter make it match the theme of your blog or website.

You will be doing a good job of branding your Internet business when people get used to seeing the same things over and over from you.

Publish several email newsletters. Many Internet marketers branch into multiple niches but neglect the things that were successful with when they first started.

By publishing a newsletter for every niche that you are involved in is a great way to make more money in that targeted niche. If you work at adding subscribers to every newsletter you have, you will be amazed at how much more income you can generate.

The above are a few tips on how to create an email newsletter. You will discover that an email newsletter that is published on a consistent basis, to people who choose to receive it, becomes a very valuable business asset.

MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (10.1-Inch, 32GB, Wi-Fi)

This review is from: MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (10.1-Inch, 32GB, Wi-Fi) (Personal Computers)
First of all I want to say that I own both Apple and Google/Android devices. I own iPod Touch and have played with iPad of family member who own the device. I also played with iPad 2 quite a bit at the store as well as from a friend who got it on launch day. I currently own original Motorola Droid and looking to upgrade to newer Android phone this summer. It is difficult not to compare Xoom to its competitor aka iPad 2. Therefore, this review will entail Xoom features (Wifi version) along with comparison to iPad 2.

Operating System - An iPad is more akin to a smartphone where as a Xoom is more akin to a laptop (Best Buy actually has it in laptop section instead with other Android tablets like Samsung Galaxy). Honeycomb feels more like a tablet. It's not just a row of apps and wasted space like iOS. Plus, you have room for customization (widget, live wallpaper, theme etc). There is also little detail that tech savvy will appreciate (outline grid, advanced settings, google labs etc) Honeycomb is still a bit buggy but not to the point that it becomes annoying. I only have several force close (app closed due to error) once in a while (Not all phone apps work with Xoom..yet). Obviously iOS which is a proven OS and was out almost 4 years ago is more stable than the Honeycomb, a brand new OS (optimized for tablet use) that was out a month ago along with its SDK. Google know Honeycomb still needs improvement, I know Honeycomb is unfinished and I don't mind waiting for even better experience.

Also, it's easy to transfer files between computer and Xoom. Just plug in USB and it acts as a hard drive then you drag and drop the files you want. There's also apps like ES File Explorer and Astro File Manager that help manage files/folder (like Window explorer). I believe iOS requires other softwares unless you just do music/movies through iTunes. Oh and I forget to mention that I hate having to everything tied/synced through iTunes. On Xoom, there's more freedom and you are not stuck with one software like iTunes.

Winner: To each his own but I like Honeycomb better.

Design/Apperance/Screen - Xoom is heavier but that is due to a solid build quality which I love. It is also thicker and has wider screen (more appropriate for movies than iPad 2). Although Xoom has higher screen resolution, iPad 2 still has brighter screen and more vivid look.

Winner: iPad 2 by little bit

User Interface - Some people say Honeycomb is too complicated to use. Well maybe to those who has been using only iPad. For someone who use both, I have to say it is pretty simple to use. iOS is more intuitive and foolproof but there is much more detail/option on Xoom that many people will appreciate.

Winner: Tie

Multitasking - One button and it takes you to 5 most recent apps for easy switching on Xoom. iPad 2 sort of have multitasking but not a true multitasking experience.

Winner: Xoom

Browser - If you use Chrome browser before, it is pretty much like that on Xoom. I prefer tabbed browsing over having to press button to open various windows on Safari on iOS device. You can type search directly on address bar like Chrome. You can sync bookmarks through your Google account. And yes I know there are other browser apps in the market. But for a stock browser app, Xoom has a better experience.

Winner: Xoom

Apps - iPad is way ahead in term of apps and it is because original iPad had at least 1 year head start vs Xoom. Not to mention Honeycomb is unfinished and SDK was recently released. However, the tablet apps that are available on Android market, most of them work great and look awesome. UPDATE: It turned out there're lots more Honeycomb compatible apps (I'm talking 1,000+). You just have to use keyword search such as "tablet" "xoom" "honeycomb" to discover the apps. Note that you can still use Android phone apps. The phone apps get stretched out but still keep the high resolution thus they don't look bad on the screen whatsoever. Give it time.

Winner: iPad 2

Customization - This is my favorite part about Android. You have open customization from themes, widgets to customized home screen and live wallpapers. iOS has none of that unless you jailbreak the device.
Winner: Xoom

Notification - If you have iPhone and iPad, you know how notification can be quite painful. Xoom has better notification system that show up briefly in bottom right corner as you get new email, app update etc. You can press it to view all notifications or remove them. Additionally, there is also LED light blinking notification on top right of the device.

Winner: Xoom

Hardware Performance - A5 vs Tegra 2 is still up for debate. Xoom seems to be as powerful as iPad 2 with exception of GPU (difference can be seen with gaming and screen brightness). iPad 2 has 512MB RAM vs 1 GB RAM on Xoom.

Winner: ???

Camera/Video/Audio - Better camera and video on Xoom thanks to its higher spec vs VGA front and lower MP back camera on iPad 2. Camera app gets a little bit of time to get used to on Xoom. Speaker on Xoom is decent and could have been louder. I wish the volume rocker is more visible on the side. It feels like the button can become stuck into the device.

Also I use DVD Catalyst 4 to convert and transfer movie to Xoom. It can convert most file types as long as it's not DRM protected (like "Digital Copy"). The software is pretty neat, simple to use and the pictures look great. You have option to customize the pictures, add subtitles, and get rid of black bars.

Winner: Xoom OVERALL

Flash - Yes, Flash is still in beta but it works great so far with a little bit of lagging but barely noticeable. Pretty smooth most of the time. I tested it on sites that use Flash like Engadget (video), Honda (car animation), Vice Versa restaurant in NYC (heavy flash site), Myspace and bandcamp (with music player on artist page). iOS has no Flash AT ALL as we all know when it comes to browsing.

Winner: Xoom by a mile (until HTML5 is fully functional)

Battery Life - Xoom gets about 8 - 9 hours for heavy multitasking usage. Will have to test standby time but I expect it to be less than iPad 2. iPad 2 gets at least 10 hours of heavy usage.

Winner: iPad 2

GPS - Just want to mention that GPS and full Google maps navigation is available on Xoom wifi. While on iPad 2, it is only available if you get 3G+wifi version. And if you use Google maps app before on Android you know that it is more extensive than map on iOS (turn-by-turn voice navigation, layers etc). Since this is a Wifi version, THERE IS cache settings on Google Maps where you can prefetch map tiles by panning over the city/region while on Wifi (up to ?? MB. Need to verify the cap). Then you can navigate to desired destination just like normal with voice navigation. You cannot change the destination halfway obviously since there is no 3G connection. The other alternative will be to tether the device with 3G/4G smartphone.

Winner - Xoom

Nitpick - SD card slot on Xoom is still not enabled at this moment. Also, I wish Xoom can be charged through micro USB but I believe it may be because micro USB doesn't supply enough current to charge a tablet.

In the end, you may prefer one device over the other and it is to each his own. However, based on the overall factors I mentioned above, I prefer Xoom.

This review is from: 7" iRobot APad iPed Epad Google Android Tablet WIFI Touch Screen
So I have borrowed one of these from a coworker. Lately I get a bit more than 1 hour of battery life from it. Alternatively, instead of 'home', 'menu', and 'back' buttons like a proper Android device, it just has one button that sometimes seems to act as 'back' and sometimes seems to act as 'home'. There is a 'menu' button in the on-screen UI, but full screen apps sometimes hide it. Every time I try, I can't get any video to play correctly; it shows a fraction of a second of animation, then the video freezes while the audio keeps playing.

Droid devices should have more battery life and proper buttons. Really if it did, it would at least be a good ebook reader, but it's not even that. Obviously, the CPU is not that much faster than the Eken m001 (also available on Amazon), and that unit does have buttons and decent battery life. If you don't need to play videos and want the proper buttons, why not get the Eken instead?

Definitely I would recommend a different tablet, as well as searching google for forums about these devices.

Coby Kyros 4 GB 7-Inch Tablet with Touchscreen and Android 2.2, MID7024-4G (Black)

This review is from: Coby Kyros 4 GB 7-Inch Tablet with Touchscreen and Android 2.2, MID7024-4G (Black) (Personal Computers)
I just got mine yesterday. I really have to say I am totally impressed with it. I've played with iPad and it is definitely cool; I also owned two Kindles (one regular, one DX). My prior experience with "tablets", as such, other than the Kindle, was a cheap Chinese knock-off called "ePad", bought from a seller on Amazon maybe 9 months ago and returned promptly. This was with an older version of Android (1.6 I believe). It's worth recounting a few of the highlights of that unit's performance for contrast with this Kyros, in 2011, in the <$200 segment. It had a resistive touch screen (ok). The screen's plastic was wavy and bowed in random, odd places all around. The case for the unit was made of cheap plastic and the silver paint was chipped or just peeling off around the edges. The battery, after charging for a full 24h, lasted for 10 minutes. The battery life on subsequent charges decreased precipitously until a full charge only lasted about 2 minutes (not joking, not exaggerating). No apps could be installed whatsoever. Flash Player could not be installed. No firmware updates available. It would not recognize an SD card. There was no way to organize MP3s other than in one big long single directory. It was, in short, absolute useless garbage, and I believe I paid about $40 more for that than I did for the Coby Kyros. That thing was a proper cheap Chinese knock-off, and was an abysmal failure of the marketplace to provide any kind of meaningful competition to the far more expensive iPad.

Now enter: Coby Kyros MID7024. Just on a lark I checked on tablets last week and saw this one, just released, for the right price - a cool toy. I thought I'd take another swing at the cheap tablets, did a little reading, and this one (more specifically, its predecessor, the MID7015) sounded like a solid buy. I received it, opened it up, and wow - it is COOL! The screen is flat; the frame is high-quality and solid. Everything is very precisely engineered. The little backlights behind the buttons and on the "Home" button are very slick. It has standard mini-USB, headphone jack, micro-SD, mini-HDMI. I started it... and it WORKED. Perfectly. With about 1 hour charge it lasted around 5 hours on wifi last night. Within a few minutes of turning it on, I had it connected to the home network, downloaded a free ePub book from Gutenberg Project and opened it with the pre-installed eBook reader. In a few more minutes I had configured it to check my email in 2 accounts. This morning, in a couple more minutes, I installed Amazon App Marketplace and downloaded the Kindle Reader. It plays flash movies in the web browser. Auto-rotate works very smoothly. Overall, everything seems to "just work", exactly as you'd expect it to.

To be clear, this isn't a PC, nor do I expect it to be. It does load up both mobile and 'full' websites and looks just fine in both; so you can browse pretty comfortably. On a regular basis I'll carry it around the house, check email, read e-books, and potentially, load up MP3s and listen to them in the car or at work. Everything else it can do is gravy.

Note that despite the misleading product label "MID7024-4G" here on Amazon, this unit is a "MID7024", and 4G stands for 4GB (internal drive space), not 4G cellular wireless. It has no 4G modem. It also does not have a GPS receiver and no straightforward way to connect an external antenna. That is one thing I would have really liked it to do. So far I have not been able to get the webcam to connect to any video chat client but I only spent a few minutes working at it with Google Chat. Out of the box, all the webcam does is stares back at you, and the photo/video quality isn't the best. I'm pretty confident that can be remedied with some kind of app, either on the web or in one of the app stores. It does not have bluetooth. Many options exist in the slightly-more-expensive $250 to $350 range that do include these features; so if you'll use them (as I suspect many folks will), this isn't going to meet your needs. But, just to have a fun around-the-house or around-the-office e-reader, email checker, multimedia player, and basic web surfer, this is absolutely right on the money. And, obviously, it's leaps and bounds better-made (both the hardware and the software) than the stupid "ePad" I bought last year.

Superpad 10.2" Tablet PC, Google Android 2.1

This review is from: Superpad 10.2" Tablet PC, Google Android 2.1, Webcam, GPS, HDMI, USB, WIFI, 2 micro SD card slots (Personal Computers)
I have been using this android Superpad now for about a week. I wanted to wait until I had a chance to see how it works before I wrote a review.

The Superpad came with everything as promised. It was shipped from China and arrived quickly via FedEx at no additional charge. Upon opening the box, I found everything inside that was promised- pad, soft case, 110v charger, GPS antenna and manual. Of course it needed charging and I plugged it in overnight.

When I started to use the pad I found it was just like my Android phone in many respects. It took me little time to get familiar with the pad because of my past experience. The Google Marketplace was installed and it was easy to browse and install various apps that I wanted.

I have been able to upload many of the apps that I use on my phone as well as an "office" suite for all my docs I want to have with me. I was able to find an internet browser that supports most of the movie formats and that is a great addition. I have been using the 2- USB plugs to bring many items from my desktop into the pad and the fact that it has two memory card slots- micro sd- makes its memory grow to 64 gb. The camera works well and overall, I have had no problems with the unit.

I think my experience with the Android phone has helped in knowing how the OS works and understanding the Superpad better. It is no different than when you go from Windows to Windows 7- it takes a little time to get used to something new.

This is one slick little gadget that I am finding very useful- at $200-300 less than an i-Pad and with more standard features- it is a great buy!
